Hopefully one day you'll be able to visit in person. Until then, this online journey will introduce you to some highlights in Nepal through multimedia. Overview of NepalLocated in South Asia, Nepal is bordered on the north by China and on the south by India. Slightly larger than Arkansas, Nepal is home to eight of the world's 10 highest peaks, including Mount Everest. Its rich history and culture date back 2,000 years! A 10-year civil war ended in 2006 and Nepal is now a federal democratic republic.

Learner description: This activity is designed as a virtual field trip for fifth grade students as a social studies lesson. It could also be used in families with school-aged children. It is designed as a brief educational activity that exposes the learner to various key sites and concepts virtually.
